Every day I sit down to create, I find something new sparks my imagination. A leaf caught in the sunlight, the curl of a feather, or even the colours in a mug on my desk — all of it becomes part of the work.
Workshop sessions are also a source of inspiration. I provide templates, guidance, and a selection of materials, and it never ceases to surprise me how one template can be transformed in so many different ways, each artist showing their individuality and interpretation.
Looking to evolve in 2026, I’ve been exploring layering, stitching, and texture more than ever, letting each piece grow a little unexpectedly. Some days it’s slow, some days it feels like everything comes together at once — but every day teaches me something new.
My canvas starts blank. Surrounded by rescued fabrics, buttons, threads and more, I usually begin by colour coordinating, then I chop, shred, layer, fix, change, glue, stand back, view… it’s all part of the journey.
Every thread, every layer, every little experiment adds to the story. Having spent most of my career storytelling, I’m now doing this in a slightly different way — and loving it. And the best part? I never quite know where it will lead next.
